Welcome to KellDesign. I’m Kelly Sands, and I have more than 20 years of experience in design, marketing, and writing that I’d like to share, to support you in your communications efforts.

About KellDesign

I operated KellDesign originally as a graphic design, branding, and marketing company starting back in 2008. I took some time off from my own business in recent years, but now I’m back and I’m more communication-focused rather than graphic design-focused. And for now, this business is a part-time gig, working during my off hours from my full-time job as a Technology Transfer Specialist at NASA’s Glenn Research Center in Cleveland Ohio.

My Experience

What’s a Technology Transfer Specialist you might ask? My job is to promote patented technologies for license. You see, NASA scientists and engineers at Glenn are continuously developing brand new ideas, processes, materials, and methods for aeronautics and space missions. Many of them are completely novel, and get patented. And NASA offers those patents to small and large commercial companies for license to make products. It’s a fun job, because I’m not a rocket scientist, but I get to talk with people who are, and I get to write about the amazing things they have invented.

I’ve recently returned to Lake County Ohio, after living in Cuyahoga County for 18 years. I now live with my family in Mentor Ohio and I’m really enjoying all that Lake County life has to offer. I’ve decided to grow where I’ve been planted, and share my skills by reopening my business on a part-time basis to do writing, marketing planning, and digital marketing for businesses who could benefit from my experience.

What does KellDesign do?

If your company needs help with writing promotional copy, press releases, website content, marketing copy, or if you’d like to try an pitch an article about your product or service to the appropriate industry media, I can help you.

I have some experience with Word Press and SharePoint, and can get you started or advise you on Website design and content management, or I can do the design and management for you.

Thinking about social media campaigns or email marketing? I can provide you with ideas, advice or complete plans there as well.

Since this is my part-time job, my hours are somewhat limited, so we’ll have to plan our conversation in advance. But generally speaking I’ll be available in late afternoons, and evenings until 7pm, and on Saturdays to support you.
